“So far, our negotiating team has resisted excessive demands from the other side, and this (trend) will continue, God willing,” Ayatollah Khamenei said.

The leader said it was the opposite side of the talks in Vienna that failed to live up to its obligations.

“The other side broke its promise and left the JCPOA. It now feels hopeless and (has found itself) in a bind,” the leader said, adding that the Islamic Republic has managed to overcome many difficulties in relying on the people and will also go through this stage.

Ayatollah Khamenei said there was nothing wrong with criticizing the performance of officials, but such criticism should be based on an optimistic outlook and free from suspicion.

“Reviews should be optimistic and should not disappoint people,” the chef said.

Elsewhere, Ayatollah Khamenei hailed the bravery of the Yemeni people in the face of Saudi-led aggression against their country.

The leader advised Saudi Arabia not to pursue the war which the kingdom knows will not bring it any victory.

“Why are you continuing with the war that you already know there is no possibility (for you) to win? Find a solution and get out of this arena,” he told the Saudis.

Ayatollah Khamenei hailed the recently announced UN-brokered ceasefire in Yemen as “very good”.

If the truce agreement is truly implemented, it can endure and the Yemeni people will be victorious thanks to their own bravery and the initiatives that they and their leaders have devised, the leader added.

“God will also help these oppressed people,” he said.

The leader also referred to the developments unfolding in the 1948 Palestinian territories, praising the awakening, dynamism and hard work of the Palestinian youth in their confrontation with the Israeli occupation.

Recent activities, he added, “showed that Palestine is alive despite the attempts of the United States and its cronies (to bring about the opposite) and that it will never be forgotten.”

“With the continuation of the ongoing activities, the Palestinian people will achieve a final victory with God’s blessing,” Ayatollah Khamenei said.
