A classic children’s story comes to life at ZSL London Zoo this Easter
The Dear Zoo experience: from Saturday April 2 to Monday April 18, 2022
ZSL London Zoo offers a children’s classic Dear zoo to life this Easter, through a series of roaring activities celebrating the 40and anniversary of the famous book.
Author Rod Campbell’s much-loved story about a child who writes to the zoo asking for the perfect pet has delighted readers for four decades; now children of all ages are invited to be part of the story in The beloved zoo experience – explore which animals are too big, too fat or too grumpy to join the family.
From From Saturday 2 to Monday 18 Aprillittle ones can settle in to enjoy lively readings from the nursery favourite, during daily storytime sessions at the world-famous zoo.
Animals from the book will pop off the page as visitors embark on a new path through the zoo – learning about the real-life species behind the story, including curious monkeys, tall camels, roaring lions and tall giraffes .
Also new to London Zoo in April is a celebration of Campbell’s latest picture book, take care of us, that imaginatively introduces toddlers to wildlife conservation; families will enter a tranquil underwater-themed world to hear the new tale, before exploring an interactive exhibit – specially designed for preschoolers – showing how ZSL conservationists are helping to protect endangered species in nature.
After story time is over, young animal lovers can spend the rest of the day exploring over 20,000 animals at London Zoo, including Humboldt penguins on Penguin Beach and Sumatran Tigers in Tiger Territory.
A day of great value, everything The beloved zoo experience and take care of us activities are included in the price of admission – book your tickets online now at www.zsl.org/london-zoo
