Chairman of the Supreme Audit Court of Iran Mehrdad Bazrpash and Chairman of the Supreme Audit Institution (SAI) of the Republic of Belarus Vasily Gerasimov held a meeting on the sidelines of the 9th Assembly of Supreme Audit Institutions of Iran Economic Cooperation Organization (ECOSAI), held in Kazakhstan on Friday.

During the meeting, the two officials signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation between the audit organizations of Iran and Belarus. The 13-article MoU involves interaction between the two states for five years.

Denouncing the cruel sanctions that cause suffering to nations, Bazrpash said Iran and Belarus can strengthen coordination to jointly cancel the sanctions.

“One way to neutralize sanctions is unity among those who are sanctioned against the cruel country that imposes sanctions,” the Iranian official added.

He also noted that the new memorandum of understanding with Belarus marks the start of close cooperation between the audit institutions of the two countries.

For his part, Gerasimov denounced the sanctions against Tehran and Minsk, saying that Belarus and Iran are friends who help each other in difficult times.
