Iran, Norway should diversify cooperation: Deputy Foreign Minister – Politics News
Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Ali Baqeri, who is in Oslo for the tenth round of political consultations between Iran and Norway, met with Norwegian Foreign Minister Anniken Huitfeldt on Thursday.
Highlighting the benefits of bilateral relations between Iran and Norway amid the global food and energy crisis, Baqeri said such mutual cooperation would be beneficial for all of Europe.
The deputy foreign minister also urged Iran and Norway to make an effort to strengthen their political will to expand their relations by creating various cooperative ties, the foreign ministry’s website reported.
Other issues discussed at the meeting related to efforts to reduce the problems faced by Afghan refugees and to effectively address the root causes and factors creating insecurity in Afghanistan and the wider region.
For his part, Huitfeldt thanked Iran for its considerable assistance for decades to Afghan refugees.
She also welcomed the ongoing talks between Iran and Norway on the problems of Afghanistan and the help provided to solve them.
The Norwegian foreign minister finally welcomed the idea of going to Tehran and invited her Iranian counterpart to participate in the Oslo 2022 conference.
