Iranian general calls for preparation for hybrid wars
In a meeting with a group of officers from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), Major General Yahya Rahim Safavi, the main military adviser to the leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, said called on the IRGC and other armed forces to prepare for the enemy’s hybrid warfare.
“The IRGC should realize the enemy’s strategy and threats,” he noted, warning that the war the enemies have launched against the Iranian nation at present is a hybrid war with political dimensions, economic, cultural and media.
He further pointed to the failure of US plans to form a hegemonic monopoly in the world over the past 30 years, saying that the withdrawal of military forces from Afghanistan, Iraq and Syria demonstrates the defeat of the United States. United and NATO.
The fact that Americans escaped from Afghanistan and reacted passively to the Russian attack on Ukraine reveals that US power is waning, the general said.
He also said that the “soft power” of the Islamic revolution has surrounded the Zionist regime, adding that a number of Israeli officials recognize that their regime is confused and crumbling from within.
In comments earlier in July, Iran’s Armed Forces Chief of Staff, Major General Mohammad Hossein Baqeri, warned of a harsh and complicated Hybrid War that enemies have been waging against the Islamic Republic, pointing out the need for a constant strengthening of the country’s deterrent power.
He also noted that Iranian military units are among the few military forces in the world that face both serious military threats and security threats.
Iranian military officials have assured that the armed forces are ready to give a decisive and overwhelming response to any threat at any level in such a way that Iran’s enemies will regret taking any hostile action.
