Iran’s top general visits Iraq – Politics News

Lieutenant General Saad Mizher Mohsen Al-Alaq, president of the Iraqi Defense University for Advanced Military Studies, met on Sunday morning in Tehran with the Deputy Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, Brigadier General Aziz Nasirzadeh.

The Iranian general announced at the meeting that Major General Baqeri planned to visit Iraq as part of Iran’s efforts to promote cooperation with the neighboring country.

Welcoming the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Supreme National Defense University of Iran and the Iraqi Defense University for advanced military studies, General Nasirzadeh said the memorandum of understanding would facilitate the exchange of experience between the two centres.

He also noted that unity and brotherhood between the Iranian and Iraqi nations would create an emerging regional power.

Iranian military officials have repeatedly expressed their willingness to strengthen Iraq’s defense power and meet its military equipment needs.

During a meeting with the Iraqi Interior Minister in Baghdad in June, the Iranian Defense Minister offered Iraq to help ensure security in the Arab country by providing equipment suitable for military operations and policewomen.
